A Little Help in the Kitchen

Common Recipe Questions

Are All of These Recipes Safe for Celiac Disease?

The collection is intended for gluten-free cooking, but a recipe page cannot guarantee the ingredients or preparation in your kitchen. Check the exact products and reduce contact with gluten-containing ingredients. Documented cooking tests are still being added; follow your care team’s guidance for your individual needs.

Do I Need Special Flour for These Recipes?

Use the flour type and blend specified in the recipe. A measure-for-measure blend is not automatically suitable for every baking method or a direct replacement in every recipe. Check whether the blend already contains xanthan gum before adding more.

How Do I Avoid Cross-Contamination While Cooking Gluten-Free?

Use clean equipment and preparation surfaces, and prevent crumbs or gluten-containing ingredients from entering your meal. Check sauces, broth, oats and other packaged ingredients individually. A scanner can help read information but cannot certify a dish.

Are These Recipes Also Dairy-Free or Egg-Free?

Gluten-free does not mean dairy-free, egg-free or free of other allergens. Read the full ingredients and the labels on the actual products used. Substitutions may need a different method and a separate cooking test.

Why Do Gluten-Free Baked Goods Sometimes Turn Out Crumbly?

Texture depends on the flour blend, binders, liquid amounts and cooking method. Follow a recipe developed for those ingredients rather than assuming every gluten-free blend will behave the same.

How Often Do You Add New Recipes?

Recipes will be updated as their ingredients, cooking methods and images are reviewed. We will describe a recipe as kitchen-tested only when a record supports that statement.
